First, to answer your closing question, YES, I believe everyone should be treated equally.
Second, the body-shaming practices of the fashion industry…relative to size and shape…know no skin color boundary. Just type Ebony fashion into your search bar and look at the pictures of the very tall, very slender women Ebony presents. Same as Elle, Vogue or any other “fashion” mag. Color aside, all the bodies are ridiculously proportioned relative to the mass of the population they seek to make “fashionable”. Perhaps you see that as racist, but the evidence suggests otherwise to me.
Lastly, I don’t know where you live, but a quick internet search for hair salons for African American women gave me a May 2021 Yelp list of more than 20 places within 15 miles of my South San Francisco Bay Area home.
