Hi again Lauren. I read your stuff because I think your views are important to understand; though I don't agree with many of them. This most recent message feels more like a desperate grab at straws of rage. You know as well as I that analogy of the spoken word is more indicative of the moment than the heart. As writers we get the opportunity to revisit our message and refine our intent. When on TV, a right-now-no-edit medium for the interviewee, time to craft your message is gone before you know it. Think about that. What if everything you wrote, right now, in response to a question was your one chance to get it right....no edits?
Anyway, for a business-mind the idea of "capitol" is by no means a negative. In fact it is a fundamental positive needed for a positive outcome. It is an appropriate analogy when considering the status or circumstances as one accesses the probability of future outcome. Your attempt to turn that into yet another trinket to fuel your rage actually weakens your position. Logical, rational thinkers are needed to wade through illogical, irrational circumstances. When we take stock of our assets, our people are our strongest. All that was being said here is that the strength of our markets and the strength of our people are resolute and ready to move forward. Anything else you or anyone tries to weave into that message is simply an act of desperation.
Do keep writing though. and I'll keep following, and commenting when I think it appropriate. It is how we all get to be part of the greatest country in the world.
