Hmmm. OK, not surprising I suppose. However, your story lacks timeline and perspective. If the “west” saw Russia as a place it needed to attack militarily, for which there is no evidence, it likely had to do with Russia’s / Putin’s behavior. Think Syria, Georgia, Crimea, and now Ukraine. If you do not want to be seen as risky bad-acters, don’t behave that way. Why would Europe/NATO/US trust Putin? His track record says they shouldn’t.
