I guess that's a matter of perspective Owen. Though far right forces, taking cover as Republicans, are scary, the far left forces, taking cover as Democrats, are equally scary. They would wipe away much of what are core beliefs of conservatives if given the chance; and conservatives know that and respond accordingly.

Those who hold the offices take the most heat, because they are supposed to. In this current case I find the lack of moral compass a big issue. Remember, Biden was for "stop and frisk" and increasing police power, discretion and funding when in the Senate. Then all of a sudden he was against it. "Defund the police". Now he may be for it...unless getting vote / donations suggests he needs to be otherwise. Impossible to know where he really stands; what his core values are.

Remember when he said he was going to make Saudi Arabia a "pariah" ( just 18 months ago)? Now he's paying them a visit ( a huge thing on the global political stage) and asking that they pump more oil; essentially sending more money and power their way.

Remember that he told us he was going to kill the petroleum industry? Apparently he only meant the US petroleum industry because he is boosting the petroleum producers throughout the rest of the world. It seems he'd rather send US $'s and US jobs to foreign countries; some of which would like to see us eliminated. That's him taking a purely political position that to satisfy the Green New Deal voices of the far left. That is not what is best for America, or the world for that matter. These folks have a long and wide record of horrible human right violations; but I gues he's OK with that as long as it's politically expedient for him.

Remember when he said a little war in Ukraine with a little lost Ukrainian territory would be OK?

Remember he said "I'm going to kill Covid"? Obviosly a grand political over-boast. We're far from past that.

Remember when he (Kamala and the entire Democrat party) accused those border patrol agents of whipping crossing the US border illegally? Oops! Rather than "lead" by saying that until he had the opportunity to see the outcome of the investigation he would withhold any comment, he (and his cohorts) chose, or more likely his handlers chose, to jump on an anti-border security bandwagon....in search of votes. (No apology likely.)

My point; I did not like Trumps antics, nor many of his actions, but at least I knew where he stood. His stand on our southern border for example. I live in Texas...it's CHAOS down there. His stand on energy independence is another. Energy dependency, for us and others, is why we find ourselves unable to address Putin's aggressions and atrocities in Ukraine. If we were the net energy exporter that we were under Trump Putin would have much less capacity to wage war in Europe; if any.

In times like this we need strong leadership that does not vascillate with moment to moment, day to day, month to month events. Either you are for something or you are not. You don't get to be some of the time. Because Biden is in the hot seat, he needs to be held accountable. Continued Trump / Republican bashing only serves to provide cover to failing policies that lack the strength of solid foundational beliefs. Biden is not the President of the Democrats, he's the President of the whole country and needs to include the whole country in his leadership choices.

Personally I beleive that we Americans have more in common than our polarized politics and politicians will allow us to acknowledge and embrace.

One-time Democrat, came to my senses, opinionated…but evidence based, moderately conservative, have trouble with BS…especially the political variety.
