I wonder at the idea that I owe some form of reparations to someone who has broken into my house. I realize that person was needy, and had all sorts of issues in their life, but breaking in, or even being caught in the act of breaking in is a crime and no other moniker is appropriate.

So when these people broke in to my house and then got caught they were arrested and their children were sent to child protective services. The problem however is that so many people were getting caught breaking in to houses that the jails and child protective services became overwhelmed. What a mess.

The moral of this story is that criminal acts are criminal acts. The perpetrators are the perpetrators. The repercussions, however painful, are the result of the actions of those who perpetrate the crime. The solution is to stop the perpetrators, so I put a stronger door on my house.
