A couple of points of clarity for this distorted dialog;

Though the election is still up in the air, don't be surprised if Trump wins. Too many Americans are sick of the "America last" mentality the Democratic party has been spouting lately. It is not the conservative Right that has been burning our cities and tearing down our monuments.

The idea that the "red states" have been leaching off of the blue ones is ludicrous. I live in California. Hard to get more "blue". California is in a huge mess as a result of left-leaning leadership behavior. The infrastructure is crumbling, our electrical grid is 3rd world, our educational system is ranked 38th out of 50 states and the homeless crisis has exploded turning once great cities like SF or LA danger zones. All this while they suck off the 5th largest economy in the world; meaning that some 190 countries get by on less. COUNTRIES for crying out loud!!! And oh yes, they've racked up about $1.5 trillion in debt from the borrowed money and unfunded liabilities layered on top of us by our "leaders". The same is true for New York. In fact, the top 5 most indebted states in the country (CA, NY, MA, NJ, IL) are all blue states. I wonder why that is?

This little article you wrote is an interesting pander to your leftist comrades Russ. But it's façade does not well mask it's intent to further divide. I can only hope that there are enough bright minds on Medium to see this truth.
