This article is just as I expected before I read it. More of the same opinionation of what’s going on and what’s likely to happen. It will be what it will be!
My comment relates to the apparent attempt to paint Trump, and thus I presume his Republican supporters, as disrespecting the rule of law. As a lifelong law and order kind of guy I take issue with that thought. I live in California, where the rule of law is just an inconvenience for the Democrat majority. Whether it is defecating in the streets or breaking into cars or sneaking across the southern border, laws on the books for such offenses are simply ignored or worse yet denounced. Disrespect for the rule of law is so wide spread here that I can not even get local representatives, Senators or the Governor to answer the simple question “Do you believe in the rule of law? If yes, do you believe all laws should be obeyed? If not, which laws do you believe it is OK to break?” A simple, but strongly principled question. Their lack of response, or desire not to respond and hope I go away is tantamount to a confession of disrespect.
I think that if the writer(s) at Atlantic want to do an expose come to California. The disrespect for the rule of law by those who are put in place to uphold it is so blatantly obvious you will probably trip over a story getting off you airplane. Start with Sacramento, the San Francisco and then LA. Get your shots first though….the latter two have become biologically dangerous.
