Well Joe. You speak as though you know a lot about me, but you don’t. For starters, leadership does not demand extremist views or practices. I don’t think anyone sees me as a “follower”; though I am a good team mate. In fact, being able to think and act in “moderation” is, in my belief anyway, a key to leadership success.
I don’t have any “delicate sensibilities”….though I do act sensibly most of the time.
What I believe in, and actually know from experience, is that extremism is divisive, and tends to only bring like-minded extremists along for the ride. Hardly descriptive of the majority of the population.
And actually, I’m not afraid of giving people healthcare. My company provided it for all it’s employees starting decades ago.
Being a scientist and professional communicator you can be sure I trust the institutions of science and education; to a point.
And finally, the world is not likely to “die” in 2050. As some science-types suggest, it could reach a theoretical tipping point. Not a good thing and something we should work to avert. If and when the earth dies, assuming the sun doesn’t explode or a serious asteroid doesn’t impact us, it will take a long time; perhaps centuries. Life is tenacious.
